About the Method
Building strong homeschool communities requires more than enthusiasm. It requires structure, clear leadership, and a sustainable model for participation.
The Caregiver-Led Homeschool Co-Op Method was developed to provide exactly that.
The Caregiver-Led Homeschool Co-Op Method is a structured framework designed to help caregivers build organized, sustainable homeschool communities.
Many homeschool groups begin with strong enthusiasm but struggle to maintain consistency over time. Without a clear leadership structure and defined participation expectations, communities often experience burnout, confusion, or uneven responsibility among members.
This method was developed to solve those challenges by providing a clear leadership model, a structured weekly program format, and a replicable framework that communities can implement year after year.
The goal is simple: create homeschool co-ops that are organized, collaborative, and sustainable for the families involved.

Milena Smith
Founder
Milena Smith is the founder of the Caregiver-Led Homeschool Co-Op Method and the founder of Wolverine Wonders Homeschool Co-Op in Colorado.
Her work combines academic training, professional experience, and a deeply personal commitment to supporting homeschooling families.
Born and raised in Brazil, Milena earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from the State University of Santa Cruz in 2013. During her undergraduate studies she conducted a groundbreaking research project titled Histopathological Changes in Liver and Brain of Consumers of Illegal Drugs, approved by the university’s ethics committee and recognized as the first project at the institution to use human tissue rather than animal models. After moving to the United States in 2014, her degree was formally accredited by a private U.S. institution in 2016.
Milena’s connection to education began early. Fluent in both English and Portuguese, she began tutoring English as a teenager and later taught private English lessons to executives, families, and professionals while completing her university studies.
Professionally, Milena also gained experience in the banking industry. At Four Corners Community Bank she worked as a Commercial Loan Assistant and later as a Compliance and BSA Specialist. These roles strengthened her skills in financial oversight, regulatory compliance, and operational organization, experience that later proved valuable in managing nonprofit and community initiatives.
In 2024, Milena founded Wolverine Wonders Homeschool Co-Op to fill a gap she observed in the homeschooling community: the need for structured, consistent group learning opportunities that remain free from ideological influence. Drawing from her experience as both an organizer and a homeschooling parent, she designed and implemented a wide range of programs focused on collaborative learning, intentional social interaction, and community engagement.
Through that work, Milena began developing a structured framework for organizing caregiver-led homeschool communities. Over time, this framework evolved into what is now known as the Caregiver-Led Homeschool Co-Op Method.
Guided by the belief expressed by Aristotle that “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit,” Milena strives to cultivate curiosity, collaboration, and consistency in the communities she helps build.
While her academic and professional achievements are significant, Milena considers her greatest inspiration to be her role as a mother and the daily motivation she receives from her children.
